Government & Regulated Industries
Some of our most demanding work is for government and regulated teams, including a relocation platform for military families and a flight-claims portal with admin and affiliate dashboards. We can't show you everything, but we can tell you what we designed and the difference it made.
Project Overview
This work spans government agencies and major brands we can't name, from a relocation platform for military families to AI features for a global ticketing company and a national telecom. These are projects where getting it wrong is costly, whether that means sensitive data, accessibility law, or a launch date that can't move. Chayland Design is an SBA-certified Women-Owned Small Business, registered in SAM, and every product we ship meets AAA accessibility and Section 508.
Our Role
Here is what we did for each one:
- Government relocation platform: We unified five legacy relocation and tracking systems into one platform for moving military families, across web, iOS, and Android. It covers dashboards, surveys, claims, and trips, plus apps for moving cargo to the warehouse and tracking it once it arrives. We also implemented scalable design systems that cut development time 30% and make it easy for the team to keep building long after we hand it off.
- Flight-claims portal: We simplified the passenger claims experience and built tools that help internal teams process claims faster. We cut a 16+ hour task down to two minutes, and A/B testing raised claim submissions 61%.
- Connected fitness company: We replaced an onboarding process that relied on one-on-one calls and couldn't scale. In its place we designed step-by-step video onboarding and an interactive progress dashboard for an EMS (electrical muscle stimulation) fitness suit, on a custom SwiftUI design system. Onboarding got easier, and retention rose 50%.
- AI roadmap builder: We refined the conversational UX, voice input, and mobile and tablet layouts for an app that turns an idea into personas, specs, and a backlog.
- Sports collectibles marketplace: We built a design system and refined the card reveal, trading, and collection flows for a marketplace of officially licensed digital collectibles, and signups rose 25%.
- National telecom company: We designed a 5G proof of concept in under two weeks that showed AI-generated sports highlights on phones and tablets. It gave leadership a working demo to back the idea.
- Global ticketing company: We designed the experience for its first custom AI model, which recommends three to five events per session based on personal taste, plus a tool for testing prompt versions.
Impact & Results
The government relocation platform brought five legacy systems into one, and its scalable design systems cut development time 30%. On the flight-claims portal, we cut a claims task from 16+ hours to two minutes, and A/B testing raised claim submissions 61%.
The connected fitness launch reached 7,000+ preorders and lifted retention 50%, and the sports collectibles marketplace grew signups 25%. The telecom proof of concept gave leadership a working demo, and the ticketing experience narrowed each session to three to five personal picks.
